EDI's products and technical expertise span light, medium, and heavy duty vehicle classes for both commercial and consumer applications. We work closely and collaboratively with our customers' development organizations to engineer their drivetrain solution and also to supply critical software and other key components needed to produce prototype and volume/high volume vehicle builds.
Our co-development process includes completing detailed requirements reviews, computer simulations to model vehicle performance, dynamometer based drivetrain integration and controls development, and supporting vehicle integration, calibration, and testing efforts. EDI's product portfolio continues to expand and includes a number of innovative and highly unique solutions including: software, drivetrain controllers, continuously variable transmissions (CVT), clutching systems and controls, drivetrain architectures, and other related components through our partnerships with battery module, motor, and charging system/infrastructure companies.
We're very different from other hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric drivetrain technology providers because of our unique solutions and expertise in both parallel and series vehicle architectures across most vehicle duty classes as well as our ability to work with optimized transmission choices - including some of the industry's most efficient CVTs.
When it comes to providing our hybrid and electric vehicle products and engineering capabilities, we do not believe in producing ordinary "me too" designs. We actively create differentiation and competitive advantage for our customers by optimizing efficiency, cost, and performance.
